“I would say to focus on tailoring the job application and interview approach according to NHS expectations. Many IMGs struggle because their CVs and answers are not aligned with what hospitals or the NHS look for. Persistence is key to success. Therefore, improving the job application process, applying widely, and networking with other IMGs already in the NHS can help. Additionally, a clinical attachment or observership in the NHS helps with references and securing a locum job (trust bank job).”
